I was hit by something, suddenly
I was undone by nothing, apparantly
not in my wildest dreams had I ever imagined
to be just that, which I saw so clearly
a flash, in front, behind, all around
and I had to keep myself
from looking over my shoulder
to see where it had gone

I was struck by something
It made me smile, as you could see
like in our wilder years, when we had dreams
had I ever imagined being undone
in a flash, all over, out of the blue
and then to realise this was all I really wanted
a tear-stained face, looking over my shoulder
to see where I had gone

I am held by something, undeniably
it's something I hold on to, desperately
it's something that I rest in, comfortably
